The Release Trainer
A small ball shaped device with a three-hole handle. Three holes allows for better control of the tool while practicing the movements.
Practice the movement behind a controlled release.
The Release Trainer helps you isolate the wrist and finger action used at the bottom of the bowling swing. Its ball-shaped body and three-hole handle give you a way to practice that movement away from the lanes while working your fingers, wrist, and forearm.
Start with the trainer resting in your palm. Place your index, middle, and ring fingers through the holes, gently move the trainer away from your palm, then bring it back. This controlled exercise lets you become familiar with the motion before adding a swing.
Next, hold the trainer by its handle with the same three fingers and move into a balanced post position. Practice a short, relaxed swing, adding smooth wrist movement at the bottom while keeping your fingers engaged. Notice whether the motion feels fluid or forced, and repeat it with control.
Use a few comfortable repetitions as a focused warm-up before bowling, then take that feeling to the lanes.
